AIP Diet

The diet is twofold.

Certain foods that have the ability to trigger flare-ups in autoimmune diseases or other chronic inflammatory diseases, are temporarily eliminated while simultaneously highly increasing the nutrient density of the foods that are consumed.

How long is the elimination phase?

The elimination period is 30 days but it has to be said that most people get the best results with an elimination period of 60 to 90 days.

What are those best results?

The aim of the elimination phase or the reset phase is to sense a detectable improvement in your symptoms. So those ‘best results’ are you feeling better, both physically and mentally, having more energy and experiencing remarkably less symptoms.

And then what happens?

Once the inflammation in your body has decreased and the reset phase has done its job it is time to re-introduce ingredients.

This is done slowly because sometimes you will only get an adverse reaction after a few days of re-introduction.

But the aim is over time to successfully re-introduce as much ingredients as possible. The emphasis on nutrient-dense remains.
